As a Lodge we are looking towards the recess, I would at this time thank the Brethren of the Lodge for their continued support that they have given me and Lodge St John, No. 272 since I was re-installed as Master in December 2011. Since January we have been invited to confer Degrees in Lodge Hope Bridge Castle, No. 827, Lodge St John Stoneyburn, No. 1186 and Lodge Almondale, No. 1658 and I was delighted and encouraged by the Brethren of the Lodge who supported the Office-bearers on these occasions. |

I was and I do know that Brother George M. Preston, Past Master was most grateful for the attendance of many Brethren from the Lodge on the evenings on which he received Honorary Membership of Lodge Kirknewton & Ratho, No. 85 and Lodge St. John Crofthead, No 374.
I have been greatly encouraged by the commitment that Lodge St. John, No. 272 and its Members have shown in their support of both Masonic and non-Masonic Charities and worthwhile causes, including donations to organisations etc. within our Community. Since our Lodge was chartered on the 4th May 1818 we, as Freemasons in Mid Calder, have strived to practice the tenets principles of the Craft, promoting the general good in society and ensuring that we continue to practice and maintain our high standards in charitable work inherited from our predecessors. I trust that when you browse through our Website you will find it of interest. It will continue to evolve in the months ahead and any comments you might wish to make will be greatly appreciated. |
